MiDefender was originally created for my wife, who is an avid runner. She generally exercises in the early morning hours when it is still dark (or barely light yet!) outside. As an Industrial Designer, I am always looking to make improvements on existing products or invent better ones if I can’t find what I am looking for.  Whenever my wife would exercise, she used to carry a small canister of pepper spray, but I felt that was still not enough. My concern was that by the time she needed to use her pepper spray, she would already be in a close dangerous situation that perhaps could be avoided. What she was carrying before was not a deterrent, only a small line of self-defense. I set out to design a device that served as both a deterrent AND defense to keep potential assailants far away from my wife and not put her in harm’s way. After years of product development, MiDefender now offers several lines of deterrents and physical self-defense. Now that my young adult daughter has followed in my wife’s running footsteps, it brings me so much comfort knowing that she is not vulnerable to her surroundings. I hope that MiDefender does the same for you, your friends, and your family. 

While having a personal-defense tool that serves as a deterrent and self-defense device is of most importance, it is also equally important to continue taking other safety measures.
